About us

A little bit more about us...
Both in our mid 20's, we (Melissa and Courtenay) met and became friends at Auckland University where we both studied a Bachelor of Arts and a Postgraduate teaching diploma.  After graduating we both got jobs teaching English at the same Secondary School in South Auckland.  We worked together for 3 years before Courtenay left on maternity leave in 2011 to have her beautiful baby boy Max.  Recently Courtenay resigned from her position and has moved to Taranaki due to her husbands new business venture.  However, we will continue to remain friends and share our love of baking.

Melissa:
I like to bake and craft.  I also enjoying flicking through food and home magazines, going out for meals, playing board games (a board game - a night around at Courtenay's house got me into buying board games, Carcassone and Ticket to Ride are my faves - such a nerd!) and reading other people's blogs.  I like exploring and finding new things to do in my home town and adore Summer.  I want to read more books this year; if find after reading all day as an English teacher I can't be bothered when I get home.  I also want to get a little bit fitter (nothing worse than looking pregnant when you aren't - I suppose a baking blog doesn't help!).  I live with my partner Simon and we will be moving in March as our lease expires :(
I'm having heaps of fun making crafty stuff at the moment, so I want to continue with that too :)

Courtenay:
Obviously I love to bake, I am also a die hard Warriors fan, wife to Shane and a new Mum to my delicious son Max who was born in February 2011. I have gotten into blogging thanks to Melissa who has been incredibly patient teaching me how to use things (she is far better at all the technology stuff than I am), my newest project is a blog about Max - I want it to be a digital journal/scarpbook he can look back on and it is also handy as a way of sharing updates, since I have three sisters who are/will be living out of Auckland and want to know how the wee man is doing. My aims this year are to be gentle with myself as I settle into my new role as a Mum, do my best to keep in touch with all my friends even when things are hectic and of course to keep my blogs updated!
