It’s March tomorrow, if it’s possible this year might be speeding by even faster than the last! And because we’ve reached the end of another month it’s time for me to fill you in on what is coming up on Food TV.
Junior Bake Off: Saturday’s 12pm, 4pm and 8pm, from 9 March
These kids are amazing! ‘Junior Bake Off’ gives children who love baking their own chance to become a champion, while at the same time inspiring young viewers to get baking themselves. I think it’s so important to get kids in the kitchen and thinking about what goes into their food and feeling that sense of accomplishment of making something from scratch. Over the course of 13 episodes the cake making, biscuit baking, pastry and bread making skills of the contestants will be tested to the limit. No matter what the theme, all the bakers must deliver a show-stopping, mouth watering creation - but who will ultimately be crowned the best Junior Baker? You’ll have to watch
Sweet Genius: Saturday’s 12.30pm, 4.30pm and 8.30pm, from 9 March
The sugar packed competition ’Sweet Genius’ returns for season two. Each episode sees four of America’s top pastry chefs face off over three challenge rounds, master pastry chef Ron Ben-Israel tests their creativity, ingenuity and imagination. Surprise ingredients are introduced and time pressures are tight, who will come out on top and walk away with the $10,000 cash prize? Tune in and you could be a winner too, the inspiration is endless, you might end up creating something amazing to rival the shows contestants.
Cupcake Wars: Sunday’s 3pm, 7pm and 11pm, from 31 March
This popular series returns for a fifth season of its successful cupcake competition! If you have been watching Food TV for a while you would gave come across this show, it is always one of my guilty pleasures! During each episode, four of the U.S.’s top cupcake bakers face off in three elimination challenges until only one baker/decorator remains. The sweet prize: $10,000 and the opportunity to showcase their cupcakes at the winning gig. Whether it involves a celebrity baby shower, a star-studded movie premiere, or cupcakes fit for the Queen of England, these Cupcakes Wars really heat up.
Nigella also returns to Food TV in March with a new series of Nigella Express but you’ll have to wait for a little more info about that. Since returning to work I’ve been lacking the motivation to get into the kitchen and try something new. There is nothing like sitting down and watching Nigella to get you in the baking mood though so keep your eyes peeled for that post soon.
